1/ Please read the important notes below. Choose a location for the post insuring that the post will be free from obstructions, in both the raised and lowered positions.

2/Dig the hole to a depth of 5" (127mm) deeper than the length of the ground spiggot.

3/The width Of the hole should be at least 12" square (304mm) allowing enough room for the post and the filling

4/For water drainage, line the bottom of the hole with either gravel or rubble

5/Position the steel stabilising rod into the holes at the bottom of the spiggot. Place the spiggot into the hole so that the base plate and cover are at ground level.

6/ Wedge the post in position and check that it is verticle, it may help to extend the post to the upright position to check that the post is verticle. now fold down or remove the parking post and fill with concrete.

7/ Fill the rest of the hole with concrete to just below the surface plate.

8/ Check that the post is still verticle, then fold down or remove the parking post and leave for at least 48 hours or until the concrete is fully set.
The concrete mix should be a strong mix ie not too wet. We reccomend a mix of 1 part concrete to 3 parts aggregate.

Important Notes
When deciding the loacation of the parking post, look for drainage covers etc and avoid installation between these points to try to prevent uncovering pipes etc. Dig slowly using hand tools so that if you do encounter a pipe or cable you will not damage them. If you do encounter a pipe or cable refill and select a new location. If in doubt consult a qualified builder for installation of this product.

Foundation Bolts
You will need five suitable foundation bolts, these are available from builders mearchants or DIY stores. Your post is supplied without them, as there are many types available for different requirments, ie some people prefer bolts others prefer allen key heads( allen key heads can be drilled out for additional security.
Drill bits The drill bit should be sized according to the foundation bolts purchased.

1/ Please read the important notes below.

2/ Place post in desired position insuring that the post is free from obstructions. If the padlock is fitted, unlock and remove.

3/ Using the post-base plate as a template mark the position of the four outer holes.

4/ Remove parking post base plate and drill holes using a suitable drill bit.

5/ Reposition the base plate and check holes are in alignment . Put the parking parking post in it's lowered position then mark and drill the fifth hole. For added securith the fifth bolt is inaccessible when the post is in the locked position.

6/ Position the post again and tighten the foundation bolts..
